The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) added the Master of Glazed Ceramics from Turkey to the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

In 2010 the Master of Glazed Ceramics was announced as a 'Human Treasure' by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

Earlier, at the UNESCO meeting in Ethiopia, lavash (a very fine flatbread) and yufka (a phyllo dough) were listed.

The Turkish elements integrated so far in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity List are:

Ebru art, Whirling Dervishes Sema Ritual, Alevi-Bektasi ritual, traditional talks, Turkish coffee, “Meddah” tradition, Kırkpınar oil fights, Karagöz puppet shadow theater And Hacivat, the Mesir Pasta Festival, the troubadour tradition “Aşıklık”, the Noruz Festival, the Ceremonial Keşkek tradition.
